The NAIA, in conjunction with streaming partner Stretch Internet, announced this week the creation of custom OTT Apps, allowing VCSU fans to watch all Viking home events through platforms such at Amazon Fire TV, Android TV and Apple TV.

Valley City State University currently streams live HD video of all home events online at portal.stretchinternet.com/vcsu. That will continue, but the new apps provide fans a seamless way to access content directly on their TVs – with no need to "relay" or "cast" the stream from tablets, phones or desktop computers.

Users can access Viking broadcasts simply by searching for "NAIA" on the app interfaces on any of the compatible devices, and then downloading the free NAIA Network app. Within the app, users can sort to just show North Star Athletic Association events which will include all VCSU broadcasts.

NAIA Network apps are currently available for Amazon Fire TV, Android TV and Apple TV. An app will soon be available for Roku as well.

Fans will have access to more than 15,000 live and on-demand events throughout the NAIA during the 2017-18 academic year on these Over-The-Top (OTT) apps. A recent study by comScore revealed that 51 million U.S. homes used OTT in April, 2017, and that OTT penetrates 54 percent of homes with Wi-Fi.
