The Athletic Training Department's primary mission at Valley City State University is to provide quality medical care to the student-athletes. The services to be delivered can be broken down into three primary types: injury prevention, management of athletic injuries, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.

Anna Bratsch is in her second year as head athletic trainer at Valley City State University.
Bratsch joined the Viking staff in 2013 after working the past eight years as assistant athletic trainer for Concordia College Moorhead, where she was employed by Sanford orthopedics and sports medicine.
She graduated from MSU-Moorhead in 2005 with a Bachelor's degree in athletic training and exercise science. Bratsch then completed her Master's degree in health nutrition and exercise science from NDSU in 2007.
Assistant Athletic Trainer
A native of Valley City, N.D., Alyssa Sorensen is in her sixth year as assistant athletic trainer at VCSU.
She earned her Bachelor's degree in Physical and Health Education in 2007 from Valley City State University, and then earned her Master's of Science in Athletic Training from North Dakota State University in 2009.
Sorensen's main interest in research and clinical practice is injury rehabilitation. She has also done a lot of work with postural restoration and core strengthening techniques.
